SENIOR SKIP DAYWednesday, May 12 was a day long awaited by the Chugwater class of 2021. After months of fundraising, and weeks of planning, Senior Day finally arrived! With Chugwater Schools principal, Kellie Jo Williams, and the senior class sponsor, Carrie Langston, and the two graduating seniors, Sam Heckel and Sarah Ockinga, the entourage set out for an exciting day in Cheyenne and Fort Collins.  The first stop was The Epic Egg, where all of the ladies enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast that included ham and eggs, bacon and eggs, French toast, and the girls ordered “Naked” drinks in strawberry and banana.  The adults stuck to coffee.

Their next stop was the Cheyenne Botanic Garden where beautiful plants, trees, and flowers were on display. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and wished they could take some of the greenery home with them.

Then it was on to Ft. Fun in Fort Collins where they raced go-carts (Mrs. Williams was the fastest thing on the track), played laser tag (Sarah was the Soldier of Fortune with 2400 points), spent some time in the arcade, bounced each other around on the bumper cars, and finished up with miniature golf! They took a short break for a cold drink and proceeded to the Foothills Mall where the girls shopped themselves crazy.

seniorsThe final destination of the day was dinner at The Melting Pot. The meal consisted of four courses: cheese fondue with crunchy vegetables and mini bread cubes, choice of five different salads, an entrée (choice of steak, shrimp, chicken, and any combination of those items),followed by a decadent dessert of chocolate, white chocolate, and bananas foster fondue with fresh fruit, pound cake, marshmallows, mini-brownies, and rice crispy treats. The girls both agreed that the desert course was THE BEST!

By the time they arrived back in Chugwater a little after 9:00 o’clock, everyone was ready to be home!
