WYOMING AGRICULTURE LITERACY WEEK

FFA literacy weekffa literacy weekThis year, Governor Mark Gordon signed a proclamation designating the week of March 4th as “Wyoming Agriculture Literacy Week.” The purpose of this week is to highlight the importance of educating our younger generations about agriculture and its crucial role in our everyday lives. According to the National Research Council, an “agriculturally literate person would understand the food and fiber system… including its history and its current economic, social, and environmental significance to all Americans.” This week is dedicated to taking another step closer to reaching that foundational knowledge in all students! Chugwater FFA members had the opportunity to connect with our elementary students in honor of Wyoming Agriculture Literacy Week. This is extremely important because, in Governor Gordon’s words, “Ag is important to Wyoming!”
