The sixth grade reading class at Chugwater Jr. High was thrilled when Principal Tom Waring stopped in to read The Thief of Always with them. The Miami Herald described the book as “a compulsive, lightning-paced tale that almost begs to be read aloud.” Mr. Waring has read the book nine or ten times, seven of which he read aloud to elementary classes he has taught in the past. He has each of the characters fully developed in his mind, and reads the story with both understanding and whimsy. About halfway through the book, the students rate it so far as 8.5 out of 10. Mr. Waring swears they will all agree on 10 out of 10 by the end of the book.
