The Senior class spent their lunchtime cooking their first meal of the year as part of an effort to help them understand life after graduation. The students choose the recipes we will be cooking and calculate the cost as if they had none of the ingredients on hand. This particular meal, a chicken stir fry, would have cost over $50 if we would have had to purchase all of the ingredients. However, all pitched in to supply the ingredients. The students cleaned, cut and cooked the meat, vegetables, and noodles . The recipe had several substitutions due to cost or lack of availability, which is another life skill.
