FBLA National Fall Leadership Conference (NFLC) was held in Denver, Colorado at the Colorado Convention Center. Members of Chugwater FBLA attending were Annie, Dusty, Allie, Judson, Ethan and Beck. On Friday members were in all-day classes covering workplace readiness, communication and making the most from Middle Level membership. On Saturday the members had their choice of short sessions that covered selecting your competitive events, dressing for a successful job interview, sales presentation, networking, and community service project success. Judson said he got good advice on how to word the sales pitch persuasively. Beck learned the different types of competing events for ML. Allie said,”I learned that to be a mentor and a good leader you don’t just take the position and lead others, you pass your knowledge and experiences on to the next generation.” Dusty learned that “Live life, make mistakes, learn from the mistakes, lead from what you learned! Mentorship and legacy define you. Leave what you've learned with those younger than you so that they can pass on your legacy.” Ethan also thought that learning how to properly conduct a sales pitch was something he can use later. Annie said that she learned that leadership is more than telling people what to do. It is working with your team.
